8 beehives were stolen from an apiary yard belonging to Harold Landon owner of Buzz’s Bees in the Richvale area off Richvale Highway and Aguas Frias Rd between 01/21/2019 and 01/28/2019. Stolen Beehives Located

05/02/17

On 05/02/2017, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office AG Task Force located an additional site where suspected stolen beehives were located. The location is on Cal Trans property, at Hwy 180 and the Friant Kern Canal. A majority of the living bees at the new location were recovered by the victims who had recovered beehives from the first location, in the 6700 block of E. Central Avenue.

Unidentified Bee Hives

04/28/17

On 04/28/2017, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office AG Task Force assisted Madera County Sheriff’s Department with the recovery of stolen beehives in the 6700 Blk. of East Central Avenue, in Fresno. While on scene, detectives located several other beehives with unidentified numbers and brands stamped onto the beehives.

Hive Theft Alert

01/16/17

The night of January 16th, 2017, 482 hives were stolen from a bee yard in Sutter County. All the equipment (including pallets) is brand new and has no brand numbers. The hives are double-deep 8 framers with grey cedar lids on 4-way pallets. Pallets are an odd size: 28.5 x 46″. This configuration is fairly unique. Please contact the CSBA with any tips.
