2016 Convention Review

12/12/16

This year’s Convention at the Kona Kai in San Diego was a record-breaker! Researchers from all over the United States presented the latest scientific advancements and seasoned, professional beekeepers presented practical insights into hive management. Attendees ranged from multigenerational commercial beekeepers to brand-new beekeepers just starting their first hives. Many beekeepers brought the whole family, including children, to the convention.

An interesting aspect this year was the inclusion of vendors from China and Japan, a first for both countries. The CSBA would like to thank all of our members and sponsors for making this convention such a success; the full list of 2016 sponsors can be found at www.californiastatebeekeepers.com/Events.html.

If you missed the convention this year, be sure to mark your calendars for next year’s convention, November 14th-16th at Harrah’s/Harveys in Stateline, NV. There are plenty of activities both in and outside of the convention to keep the whole family entertained, especially the out-door minded. A strong attendance at the CSBA annual conventions allows funds to be raised for vital research and promotes connections and communication within the beekeeping community. Whether you are an experienced beekeeper or just someone who loves bees and wants to learn more, there is something for everyone at the CSBA Convention!
